Helmut’s aviation career started in Big Springs, Texas when he enlisted in the US Air Force. After his service in 1971, he earned a mechanic's license at the Riverside School of Aeronautics in Utica, New York.  His career has taken him to Ottawa, Timmons, Montreal and Kingston where he joined a flight-training operation called Civet Helicopters in 1977 and by early 1979, he owned his first company. Helmut's hard work, dedication to quality and keen sense of business has helped him expand from a small flight operations company into AOG Heliservices, a 25 year + successful helicopter maintenance facility for Bell, MD and Schweizer.
